Its cold out there tonight and it has been snowing, raining, and sleeting. It would be a cold, wet, miserable time to try and cache tonight.

I just started this as a new hobby and I found my first cache today, and it was really cold. I guess I picked a bad time to adopt my new hobby lol. I loved it though and I plan to go back out soon, winter or not. :D

Just be careful and don't get caught out in a snow storm.. If you're not used to driving in the snow it can be pretty unsettling at times. Heck.. I've been driving in it ever since I had my license and I still get nervous about it.

If anyone gets out tonight, PLEASE be careful, don't go unless you really have too!
The roads here in this part of Ky are getting iced over and the snow is starting to cover it over. We lost power here about 20 mins. ago, before the power went out, we had the scanner on and it sounds bad, lots of wrecks :x

Just wanted to tell everyone to please becareful and STAY WARM and safe!!

I just drove home in it from work a little while ago.

It wasn't "too" bad out. Other drivers are what scare me more than anything though. They are so unpredictable.

The roads were pretty slushy though, and if it gets much colder out I could see it freezing over pretty quickly. Then things would get real bad real fast.

I did have some trouble getting up the last hill before I get to my place though. So many other people had been on it playing with 4-wheelers and stuff, they had gotten the snow pretty packed down, and it made it really hard on anyone who wanted to actually get home.

I was wondering if anyone else got caught in the ice and freezing rain last night?

Highspeed700 and I spent the day finishing up La Follette, caching around Norris Lake, and heading to Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Highspeed700 and I returned to his house in Barbourville, I got my truck and headed home close to 10:45pm, and I was on Route 11, in between Manchester and Barbourville, and I met a line of traffic stopped because of six or seven wrecks on the road and peopel began to get scared of the icy and slick conditions on the roadway and just came to a complete stop in the roadway. We werte there until close to 1:00am, so I turned around and went back to Barbourville and stayed in a hotel. It was a good and great day of caching, but I could have done without the ice.

No driving like a geocacher on the ice!!

Nope, not even for KyTrio! 8)

You sir, are a much better sport than I would have been! Some weather man out there would have to pay

I think that the ice caught everyone off guard. I was awakened at 6:30 this morning by the sound of a county salt truck passing by, with the distinct sound of tire-chains on the road, I looked out and found everything out side coated with ice very nicely....

Good thing for you they closed the college and you do not have to work because it can really get pretty slick out there with the freezing rain, snow, and ice.

Experienced some pretty treacherous driving last night on I-64 between Louisville and Lexington. Saw several accidents, including one pickup truck that went spinning completely out of control right in front of us. After that, daughter #1 quit saying, "Dad, it's just flurries."

Wasn't too bad between Lexington & Winchester, but the fun continued on Mtn. Parkway. :!: Then, shortly after finally making it to good ol' US 23, I incurred a flat tire at Banner. 2:30 am. Snow pouring.

I sure was glad to finally get home, albeit at 3:00 a.m. (5.5 hours after leaving Lousiville).

On a more positive note, I did manage to pick up 12 new finds, including one in Franklin County (finally).
